Just visited the Gasthaus tonight. Found out about it last night. Food better than the Gersthaus is Nashville. Will return with more folks in the future.

Authentic German Food my @$$! I had the Schweinebraten plate a few days ago and the meat was so tough! It was not cooked for 3 days as I heard, I have had more tender roasts made in a matter of hours! The dumplings tasted straight out of a microwave, and I know that gravy came straight out of a bottle. This place has the whole town of Manchester fooled. No authentic German food here, folks!

Hello Everyone! The website is in serious need of updates on the days and hours of operation. Some of the food items have changed but nothing very drastic. There is now a biergarten in front of the restaurant and have a few new beers to serve. We are trying to make these changes as soon as the webmaster gets some of the new pictures. Please be patient with us in this change. Thank you! The Gasthaus Gang

We enjoyed the food, beers, and hospitality very much. I wrote a positive review of your restaurant with http://www.tripadvisor.com/ They didn't have your restaurant listed so I provided them with the information needed so they can add your restaurant so other people will find it! Both of us enjoyed ourselves at your restaurant and are telling everyone we can about it. Thanks for making us feel like we were sitting down for dinner at Grandma's house!

Had a great meal Saturday. The sampler platter was the perfect choice. The food was just like my grandma's. The beer was the best. The Franziskaner Hefe gets two thumbs up. This is a perfect place to bring friends. Looking forward to our next visit.

When I visited your website, I found the the following mistake: Hours: Mon-Sat 11:00am til 9:00pm. Closed Sunday and Monday How can you be open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm on Monday when you say that you are closed on Monday? Did you mean to say the following? Hours: Tues-Sat 11:00am til 9:00pm. Closed Sunday and Monday

I miss the place! I've only been in Montana for a month too. If there was a place in Missoula like yours, I'd be set! They have an outstanding German-owned brewery here appropriately named, "Bayern Brewery". Keep up the good work and bring a little bit of Deutschland to middle TN!

June 9, 2007 Our family of four just found this restaurant today. We lived in Germany for 15 years and have really missed the food. I was skeptical that we would find anything close. How wrong I was! This is the real thing and absolutely delicious! I'm afraid I may have embarrassed my family by "yumming" with the first few bites of everything I tried. But I couldn't help myself--it was GOOD. We will definitely be back. This would definitely be a five star rating!

We spent the night in Manchester on our way home to O'Fallon, IL and found the Gasthaus German Restaurant while looking for a place to eat. The food was exceptional along with the service. After spending 13 years in Germany it was a treat to have a real German meal again. Thank You

Everything on the menu is great. Beer is especially the best! Black Forest cake, Spatzle, roast pork and fried grren beans. Rosie is one of the best german chefs on the world! Frank is good at keeping the restaurant tip top and will buy drinks for customers to impress them! Must stop in Central Tennessee.

Unebelievably great food!!!!....the very best and most authentic German/Bavarian food this side of the Atlantic. My mother could not have made better Wiener Schnitzel and the pork roast and Sauerbraten are out of this world. Excellent imported beer - great selection, friendly service (Rosie, Franz and Daniela...you are he best!)and wonderful atmosphere. Even the "older" waitress (Paula) is charming and NEVER rude. Try the sampler platter!...but better bring the whole family...you won't be able to finish this "monster"- meal. PS: Im Asbach Uralt liegt der Geist des Weines... I'll be back again....and again...........and again...........and again PROSIT

Just had a wonderful time at the restaurant. A friend highly recommended the sampler and I am very grateful. No way I could finish it all but each bite was delectable. The beer on tap was fantastic. Daniela, the server, was as eloquent as she was helpful. As a whole, the atmosphere reminded me of Munich in those little corner pubs that the locals alone know about.

I had the most wonderful experience at the Gasthaus. The 2 year anniversary party was great. Me and my husband just happened to stop by and I'm so glad we did! The food was EXCELLENT, the service was great, and the atmosphere is like no other. So what if they where out of a certain type of beer, it happens. It's a restuarant after all that can happen. I will definately come back and enjoy some more of the great Bavarian meals that the cook has prepared

Dang! My first negative experience at the Gasthaus (6/03). No Kostritzer beer, no buttered potatoes, no Spumoni. Seems like every time I ordered something, they were out of it. Plus, the older lady behind the bar was rude, and when I got up to use the rest room, someone stole my seat. Not a pleasant experience. But... The food was great! The smoked meats were excellent. They should add them to the regular menu, even if it's only one day a week. I did notice some people getting great service though. Two guys came in and got an iced tea and a diet Coke. They went through 3 free refills and were given a plate piled high with free bread and butter which they never touched. They spend $2.50 between them and they got 6 drinks and about 1/4 loaf of bread. The same thing happened with a young girl who only had an order of cheese fries and more of the free refills of Coke. Apparently, the less money you spend in the restaurant, the better service you get. That seems somewhat backwards. I've lately become a semi-regular down there, so this won't put me off totally yet, but it is quite a surprise from the normally great time and service I have at the Gasthaus.

I just returned from my first visit and I'll be back to Gasthaus without a doubt. One of the best meal experiences I've ever had. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world good! I hope that Gasthaus decides to branch out and put a location with us in Chattanooga.

The only place to get decent beer in town. Food is very good, with nothing even mediocre on the menu. I like the fact that I can have two beers while I'm waiting on a to- go order because they take such care with the food. (Try the red cabbage. It's superb!) The best waitresses in Manchester! Friendly, attentive, and always smiling. (Attractive too.) Not your normal Manchester waitress. You won't find better. I'll be going back and back and back...

Hello! Hallo! Guten Tag! We visited your restaurant today. My husband has been there before. We really liked it! We are really glad there is a good German restaurant nearby. Have you ever thought of opening a branch in Murfreesboro? That is where we live. We know you could get good business here! (We are the Nashville Predator hockey fans!!) Thanks again and keep up the good work/cooking! Auf Wiedersehen, Anne, Troy and Max Baldwin

I wanted to say how much my fianc? and I loved your restaurant. The waitress was very kind and polite and didn?t even mind speaking what little German she did know to us. The atmosphere at your restaurant was very good and the food was delicious. I plan to come back though I don?t know when as I live in Nashville. Maybe you can open a restaurant there someday? ;-)
